Usually I am a summer type of girl, love the heat, the outdoor activities the growing and cooking of food, but with the intense heat we have been experiencing the last few weeks I have been longing for a taste of fall. We today we finally got a tidbit. Although of course it came when Keaton traveled to the nearby mountains with his school for a three day science camp. My never am I going to wear a sweater son, may find himself a little chilly. Anyway, I spent the day enjoying some of the joys cold weather has to offer.
First I met girlfriends for our weekly coffee klatch, something I would never miss whether hot or cold or blizzard or heat wave.
Next I gathered ingredients from trader joes and headed home to watch a scary movie.
Made some soup........Parmesan, basil, and tomato and chicken curry.
Rewired two old(I'm talking 30 and 40 year old ones) lamps.
Light a fire and listened to the thunder and lightening, although Roxy was not too happy at all about it.

about me
- Karen Rothfus
- Alta Loma, California, United States
- I am a newly, 3 years, transplanted California, who has found her heart in Northern Idaho. Married to my better half, Kevin, for 34 years, we live on ten acres with a pond, a barn with 23 antique John Deer tractors, 18 chickens and four labs (3 fox red, 1 chocolate) My hubby took an early out from United during this Covid situation, but still works full time as a flight examiner, we are learning how to empty nest to its fullest. Only thing that would make life better is if our children and daughter in law lived closer.
Well your day was way better than mine. Sounds like a good way to spend a cool rainy day! Way to go on fixing those lamp wires. Soup sounds yummy too. So how was the movie?
ReplyDeleteI actually really liked it, very different.
